What Stops and What Stays

Reddit said it will stop supporting RSS feeds on November 13, 2026, citing scraping and automated abuse.

Stops

  • Subreddit feeds

    reddit.com/r/name/.rss

  • User feeds

    reddit.com/user/name/.rss

  • Search feeds

    reddit.com/search.rss?q=topic

  • What reads them

RSS readers, automations and bots built on those addresses.

Stays

  • Reddit itself

You can still read and post there.

  • What you already have

Stored posts are not affected. New ones stop arriving.

  • Moderator alerts

Reddit points moderators to the Discord Relay app.

  • Every other feed

Websites, YouTube, podcasts and newsletters are not touched.

What You Can Do Now

None of this replaces the discussion, but it keeps the news that reached you through Reddit.

  1. Save your list of subreddits

Export an OPML file from your reader, or write the list down. Some readers leave Reddit feeds out of that file, so check that they are in it.

  2. Follow the sources behind the posts

Many link posts point to a site or a channel with its own feed. Add those directly.

  3. Cover the topic with a news search

A Google News feed follows a subject across the web, which is what many subreddits do for their readers. In FeedNest it is part of Plus.

  4. Keep Reddit for the conversation

The threads stay on Reddit. Open them there when a story needs them.

Questions

Can FeedNest bring Reddit feeds back?
No. The feeds come from Reddit, and the decision is Reddit’s. FeedNest will not scrape Reddit or work around it.
What happens to the Reddit feeds I follow in FeedNest?
They get no new posts from November 13, 2026. The posts already in your list stay. New Reddit addresses can no longer be added.
Do old.reddit.com feeds keep working?
Reddit’s announcement makes no exception for them, so plan for them to stop too.
Can any app still follow a subreddit?
Not through RSS. A service with a commercial agreement for Reddit’s API can keep its own connection. FeedNest has no such agreement.
What happens to Reddit’s public API?
Reddit set three dates. Requests for API access close on October 31, 2026. Apps that did not register start losing access on January 12, 2027. The public API closes in March 2027, with no day given.
Why is Reddit doing this?
Reddit says its RSS feeds are used for large-scale scraping and automated abuse.
